The SportScribe is looking for enthusiastic associate editors, poets and prose writers, first readers, a website/social media manager and others to elevate our game to the big leagues. All positions will be filled on an unpaid volunteer basis but hopefully the experience will be invaluable.

We do expect staff writers to contribute at least one piece (poem, flash fiction, short story, essay, etc.) to each quarterly and themed zine, and our readers to review up to two to three pieces per week once we get ramped up.

• An e-mail with the subject line: “Application for [Type of] Position” followed by your name. Available positions are associate editors, poets, prose writers, readers, and a website/social media manager.
• In the body of the e-mail: include a bio with contact info and any social media handles, mention any relevant academic credentials, work experience, organizational memberships and publication credits, and explain in one to two sentences why you think you’ll be a good fit for The SportScribe.
• Feel free (though not required) to attach a resume/CV in lieu of any of the above information.
• Applicants for staff writer positions (poets and prose writers) should attach two or three pieces that’ll give us a good taste of your style and what we can expect from you – i.e., send us the type of work that’s in your wheelhouse and a good example of what you’ll be contributing on a regular basis.
