The SportScribe is a sports-themed literary magazine devoted primarily to short fiction and poetry, but we also publish creative nonfiction, essays, interviews and book reviews. Our goal is to publish new works twice or thrice per week on our home page, with quarterly zines and occasional themed zines.
By “sports” we don’t just mean traditional sports like football, baseball, basketball, hockey, etc., but any type of sport, game or contest – from billiards to poker to fishing to mud wrestling to hot dog eating to bikini contests and everything in between.
We have a special taste for the dark side of sports – revenge and redemption stories, general vice/debauchery/depravity, and the off-the-field underbelly of the sports world.
We aim to feature works by new, emerging and established authors who find great raw source material in the sports world just like we do, and to showcase their voices and literary talent to as wide an audience as possible.
